Awards and Achievements
It is important that our pupils realise that hard work, determination and resilience leads to achievement. We hold a fortnightly celebration assembly at 9o'clock on alternate Friday mornings to recognise these qualities in our children. Examples pop the achievements we may celebrate are: mastering a concept that was previously difficult, swimming 5 metres for the first time or being invested into Cubs. We are proud of each and every child's individual journey and we like to recognise the baby steps along the way, inviting friends and family to share in our celebrations. Our photos off the event are posted on our Facebook page each week.
St George's Preparatory School also endeavours to achieve at the highest level, setting an example to our pupils. Here is a selection of the awards we have gained. We are working towards other awards - keep checking this page for update.
To those who proudly protect our nation, who do so with honour, courage, and commitment, the Armed Forces Covenant is the nation’s commitment to you.
It is a pledge that together we acknowledge and understand that those who serve or who have served in the armed forces, and their families, should be treated with fairness and respect in the communities, economy and society they serve with their lives.
The covenant focusses on helping members of the armed forces community have the same access to government and commercial services and products as any other citizen.
We will do all we can at St George's to welcome and accommodate the families of those who serve our country. Find out more information here,
It's not surprising, that, as a Forest School, we hold this beautiful award. It recognises all of the work that we do outdoors, including conservation, management of the woodland and identification of the flora, fauna and creatures who call our woodland their home.
We are busy collecting evidence so that we can apply for the prestigious Platinum Award. We hope to bring you the news soon!

Our Early Years team have been busy gardening in their dedicated area. They have sown and nurtured a variety of flowers and vegetables, as well as creating a bug hotel and a fragrant herb garden. The children all take an active part in gardening, enjoying tasty dishes when crops are harvested. I'm pleased to announce that they have achieved Royal Horticultural Society Level 3 Award
Now that the whole school has a garden area, we hope that, by combining our efforts, we can soon achieve levels 4 and 5.
We have only recently joined the School Games Scheme, but we already hold the Silver Award! We have begun to work towards the Gold Award, having already achieved much of the criteria already!
We have (again) received the 5 star award for the cleanliness of our kitchen, the hygiene routines and the records that Mrs Bray our cook maintains. Our kitchen is inspected at random each year by hygiene inspectors from the local council.
